I have a late 2013 MBPr.

I've had a keyboard cover since day 1. It's been almost 3 years.

I'm now ready to take off the keyboard cover.

My only fear is dust, crumbs, and hair.

If that is your fear, maybe replace the cover? Sounds like seeing derby among the keys is going to annoy you

I don't get it, if I buy something like this I want to enjoy it, what's the point on protecting so much something if that way you can't really enjoy it?

It's like you've been 3 years having sex with condoms and now you've try it without, there's no going back :D

I went on ahead and am now naked. It feels great.

In all seriousness, I should've have done this before.

It's a much better typing experience.

Now about that sofa in the den... :D

Suppose I'm in the camp that says just use it too.. Its a tool.

I had a similar revelation with phone covers and such a few years back too. I see no reason to protect something so carefully that the only times you'll see it in that shiny new condition is when you first open it, then when its retired at end of life.

Now I just use the heck out of everything and enjoy it. :D

Also firmly in the use the heck out of everything and enjoy it camp. No cases, "protectors" or anything like that for phones or laptops. I keep my laptop in a leather sleeve in my bag, but that's as far as I'll go.

I can't stand that stuff.
