Personally...? I wouldnt! But if you can get its serial number and confirm it is still under Apple warrenty and there is any issues with it you could then take it back (I assume) for repair.

The first thing I'd say is, you may not save £500, as there's two days left and plenty of bidders interested already.

If you want to save a few quid but still have the peace of mind of the Apple warranty why not look at the refurbished section?

Here's an example of what's available currently:

haha thats amazing! poor bugger, surely he can just not pay?? gutted if he doesn't realize, pays, and then opens the box upon delivery and is like WTF?!

on topic: i wouldn't bother to be honest as the price will probably get very close to a brand new direct from apple, and i'd rather have piece of mind of buying direct

"As stated in the title of my advert and in the description, you are bidding on my iMAC box and not my actual iMac. I will be offering no refunds on this item and have started the listing at 99p with no reserve! The reason for this sale is due to me not needing it anymore as the iMac is now installed and i have no room for this item. "

Yep, he could take further action I suspect. Once you bid you are into a binding legal contract (or something like that!)

So in answer to the OP...no I wouldn't buy from eBay - unless it's from a seller with high feedback score
