I have owned my iphone since iday and I believe I have only listened to music on it once or twice.

I still have an ipod and it does the job much better. I use the iPhone for phone first, iCal, and web surfing.

Although I have watched tons of movies on it.

Let's stick to hardware when discussing the differences, as far as software goes my Touch is ten times more modded than my iPhone was....... proving no difference in software capabilities.

....and here is my Touch controlling my MacBook wirelessly through VNC. I did this from 45 miles away yesterday and grinned the whole time.

It's called vnsea. Even better than that though is Telekinesis which allows you to stream videos or music from your computer to anywhere you have edge or wifi.

This phone has TONS of promise, besides what it already does. The 3rd party development for this phone is going to be unlike any other phone, especially if Apple keeps the iPod touch at a competitive price and gives developers the access they need. I had a Windows smartphone and the development scene was very uninspiring and stagnant. I imagine it's more difficult to create software when you don't know what hardware it will be run on.
