Hello everyone,

I am on the market for a tablet as a complementary device to my rMBP 13' for that added mobility and general couch use and I see that the price of Air 2 has dropped significantly and I am considering whether it is a good buy at this point.

I know that there may be new bezel-free iPads around the corner with new processors, etc. but I assume they will be accompanied by the oh-so-lovely Apple premium which as of late has risen even more and that doesn't look very appealing to me.

I don't need it for anything demanding, basic internet browsing, media consumption, emails / chatting and some gaming.

Do you think it would be unwise to buy an Air 2 these days? How does it perform? How long do you consider it will be a viable device if I purchase it today?

Thank you all in advance.

A rumour is floating around that Apple is holding a March event where they will anounce a new iPad. So maybe you can wait for a couple of weeks? But then again, if you want it now, just buy it.

I'd wait, the chatter about a March event is only increasing and March is but a few weeks away.

Wait. Even if you don't want the new device, there will almost certainly be deals on the current model.

The Air 2 is definitely restricted in my area, likely due to the March Keynote. I'm thinking once the new iPads release, if that is the end of the era for the Air 2, there might be some last-minute/deals on it where it would be a discounted sale price.

you've waited this long,,, u can wait a few more weeks. but if you gotta have one now, then buy it now.

If it was buying for myself, i'd get the iPad Air 2 now,, but if u'r concerned about bigger screen then u may wanna wait if u want.
