For real? The SE takes better photos? Doesn't the XR have night mode and SE doesn't?

Both phones don’t support night mode (as mentioned) but SE even without night mode can via A13 SoC itself take better “night shots” than any iPhone with A12 and below via A13’s computational photography… just yeah SE’s back camera doesn’t have any Focus Pixels unlike the 11 lineup.

I would not recommend the XR because of the poor display. It is really not good...

Apple still make the best LCD screens on the market, and the 326 ppi Liquid retina displays on the Iphone XR/11 are very good in my opinion. The IPad Pro 2018/2020 (as well as the 2021 11" model) and the Ipad Air 4 use the same LCD screen tech. There is no way they can be described as being "Poor".

12, 11, XR practical different is camera AI only
I assume someday in the far future iPhone 11 will become another iPhone 5s and it'll be supported for a very long time, but not XR.
XR has awesome colours though.

Had my XR for 2 years now. Still as lightning fast as the day I bought it, battery life is still amazing at 93% health. Does everything I need and can see me hanging onto it for another couple of years at least.

Really? I've heard people that XR's battery is bad. How long does it last?

As above, battery life has always been great on it partly due to the low res screen. Regularly end a day around 50% with streaming music over Bluetooth for most of it, bit of light web browsing etc. Not a heavy user though, I try to use it as little as possible, don’t do social media etc. YMMV.

I’m not sure which people you have been listening to lol, but a major bonus feature of the XR when it was released, was that it had incredible battery life which was/is better than the XS and on par with the XS Max.
The people that own XR, but it's to be expected when your phone is about 2 years old, I think?

Ah ok yes after 2 years, the battery will have depleted on average to about 85-90% so wont be as good as when brand new.

In the US, you can find the SE for $250 on sale at retail stores. Last year, I bought four SEs for $200 each, and upgraded the entire family with new phones. So apparently, prices vary significantly by country.

The SE and XR are very different form factors. I owned an XR before changing to the SE. I wanted a smaller lighter device because I carry my phone in the front pocket and I found the size of the XR kind of annoying. I also preferred Touch ID. These are really personal preferences.

BTW - I loved the XR's battery life.

XR feels more modern. SE is faster but with weak battery and it looks like a 6/6S/7/8 gen despite its capabilities.

personally I don’t like the SE chin and small screen size. I am getting used to XR faceID Happy with my choice of XR.

I guarantee that you've never even seen a XR in person. The XR has an exceptional display and it is hard to distinguish differences between my 12 pro.
There's a huge difference between xr display it's got resolution of 828x1792 pixels and on 6.1 makes it garbage.

Are you looking at the actual display on the phone with your own eyes or just the stat sheet? My wife’s XR looks amazing for an LCD screen. And I have the iPhone 12 for a direct comparison. The OLED is obviously better for it’s own reasons but Apple certainly wasn’t using bargain bin LCDs.

Besides, we’re at a point now where the ppi counts are high enough on almost any flagship display that our eyes can’t see the pixels. Line up any flagship from the last handful of years side by side in a blind test and ask people to arrange them by resolution and nobody is getting it right, I don’t care what anyone says. Knowing the resolution before even looking at the screen plants the bias in someone’s mind right off the bat.

I bought SE in Jan, and last Apr bought 11 for myself (give my SE to my daughter) and XR for my wife. So far, I saw XR has better screen, battery and louder than SE, also the body feel more solid than SE.
XR screen is almost same with either SE or 11. They are all great for day to day use.

Compared it to my XS max at the Apple store and it looked like trash.

Yes! The XR is an awesome phone. Whatever you do, don’t be fooled by the SE

To be fair I couldn’t tell the difference with the screen when I upgraded from the XR to the 12. I’m temporarily using a 7 again while my 12 insurance gets sorted, and I don’t see much difference in that screen either. All 3 are Retina display and I’m not sure if theses a huge difference between LCD and OLED
