Not a scam at all. I've purchased several Mac Pros from them. Most were in excellent condition. I've had less luck with laptops. A couple purchases turned me off from buying used laptops at all.

The two machines you linked to are old and cheap. I wouldn't expect them to be in very good condition.

I would call and talk to them if you are serious about any particular machine. You will get better info that way.

So,
I was trying to find a site where I can buy a Macbook in good condition for a cheap price.

I found a form that showed some good places to buy Macs. Then I found MacOfAllTrades. I found 2 macbooks that I need to choose between. http://www.macofalltrades.com/Apple-MacBook-13-inch-2-16GHz-IC2D-2007-p/mb-13-216-m07w.htm or http://www.macofalltrades.com/Apple-MacBook-13-inch-2-0GHz-Intel-Core-Duo-Black-p/mb-13-20-e06b.htm

Anyways, I want to know if it's just a scam.
Help?

Pretty sure its not a scam -but as Thats All said - those are really old machines. Spending 200-300 on nearly decade-old (well, 7-8 year old) machines makes no sense, just get a cheap new windows laptop for not much more. It'll be a heck of a lot more reliable.

Better not be a scam site...
(it's not...did my research because...)
Just sent them my pristine MBP for evaluation/purchase
Now await their offer
Then will judge if it's a fair site

I've sold multiple Mac computers to Mac of All Trades. No problem. They've been around for a while.

Ordered a MacBook Pro 13” Mid-2012 from Macofalltrades on 05/27/18. 1) Unit ARRIVED on 06/01/18 with a defective LCD screen. Bright white spot in the center from the moment I powered it on. 2) The next day, before they even responded to my support ticket, the hard drive crashed.

If you do not buy the extended warranty, they will send you a broken laptop and charge you to send it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STAY AWAY!!!!

... luckily I paid with PayPal. Because I didn’t trust these scammers from the start. Forced to open a dispute.

They sale very old and bad laptops and do not honor their warranty at all. I have bought two laptops and both were very bad and ended up in the garbage dump.

Mac of all trades is a very good site. I have purchased 3 older Macs from them 2 white unibody MacBooks from 2010 which were Both perfect and one 13" MacBook Pro 2012 and had them switch the hard drive out for an SSD and it is a great machine with the latest os Mohave... They are very easy to talk to by phone as well. You may find a cheaper Mac on eBay but you can trust Mac of all trades.

[doublepost=1553406948][/doublepost]What ever happened with your problem with Mac of all trades. I just bought an iMac and it started getting flaky within the first 14 days! I am in a panic but I did use paypal credit!

I just want a refund.

Mac of all Trades is fine, the issue is buying any used mac, especially a MacBook (portable), is playing Russian roulette. Only buying refurbished from Apple is guaranteed. My 1 year old used MacBook Pro purchase from Mac of all Trades is dead! It is my 3rd MacBook, 1st used. The others lasted 9 years each. Never again.

I'm flabbergasted by the negative reviews for Macofalltrades. I have bought literally dozens of used computers, almost all laptops, from them over the years and they have exemplary. Honestly. I did get one with a bad DVD drive but they totally it up to me. ResellerRatings gives them five stars, BTW, which has been my experience with them.

As regards to the statement that "only buying (used computers) from Apple is guarenteed," I've had my share of problems with refurbs from them, certainly moreso than Macofalltrades.
