    Hi

Is the memory in the new Retina iMac user upgradable or is it on the system board.

    Thanks

Yes, it's user upgradable. There are 4 slots.

4 slots total, all user accessible. The 27'' iMac and Mac Pro are as of yet unaffected by Apple's recent RAM soldering obsession.

Neither is the 21", you just have to disassemble the blooming thing to get to the RAM slots.

The baseline 21'' is soldered, although higher-end configurations are not.
