Is ML smaller or larger (in terms of taking up HD space) than Lion? I ask this question because I run OSX on a MBA with a SSD and like to have some spare space for various OSX tasks and wonder if ML will hog my drive?

I ask the question from three perspectives:

    1. Is ML larger from a "freshly installed" point of view compared to your memory of a freshly installed OSX Lion.

    2. Is ML larger than Lion once you get your Apps fully loaded and you are up and running like you were with Lion?

    3. If you did an upgrade (as opposed to a fresh install) did you notice any major difference in HD space after the upgrade?

    Thanks for any info.

I believe 10.8 was 10.2gb right after a clean install. You can shave off a gig or two by removing langages and fonts you dont use. Getting rid of the sleepimage file can save you 2-4gb as well.

So, about the same as Lion, and smaller then Snow Leopard with all the options installed since they do not include all the printer drivers anymore.
