Thanks !

Actually band tightness used to be a big issue with me as I don’t like feeling the Watch wobbling about. That’s why I use the sports loop or trail loop which allows me to make finer tightness adjustments which I couldn’t do with the bands with set increments. When I run, I tighten it slightly and when it’s hot out I might have to loosen it slightly but ultimately it’s how it feels and I could never convey that in a photo. Mind you, I teach sen kids 1:1 and have one chap who on occasions insists on loosening my sports loop as he says it looks too tight so maybe a photo can convey that. Take the watch off and let’s see what mark it’s left on your wrist.

How tight is a personal preference. I wear mine somewhat loose unless I am doing an exercise activity. Yours looks snug to me but how you feel is more important.

Wear it as you want as long as you don’t feel bad in fingers and wrist due to tightness and have sensors working.

I have arms puffed due to steroids I use for asthma and as a result I wear Braided Solo Loop tight and it leaves marks under band and sensors.

But it’s very comfortable for me and I have very good sensors readings.

Yes, the watch leaves marks on my wrist when I take it off.

Then, it's too tight!

People have posted many photos here asking whether a Watch is too big for someone's wrists. They usually look pretty good. But I've been “shocked” in many cases by how tight the bands were — you can see the wrist being squeezed, and can see the band lines and definite marks.

I was worried that bands had to be tight for the AW sensors to work, but was pleasantly surprised to discover that a pretty loose band is no issue. As someone else mentioned, the sports loop band is great for on the fly adjustments as needed.

In my case, I can easily stick a finger between the wrist and the band. The Watch doesn't move around, there's no discomfort, no marks, and all the sensors register just fine.

It's kinda hard to get the right fit with the standard AW bands.

If it's too loose then it will either think you've taken it off and lock the screen or you'll get bad HR monitoring during exercise.

When it's tight you usually get better HR readings but then it can feel like it's constricting blood flow and leave red marks when you take it off.

For some it's fine. For others the holes are too far apart.

I recommend getting the Sport Loop velcro style band if you can't get the standard to fit.

Sport Loop fits everyone and is breathable.

Only downside is that it also holds onto sweat and dirt. But you just wash it in water or soap.

I think he means that the skin on your wrist is showing an indent, due to how tight your watch strap is fitted.
You should be able to move your watch slightly, without needing to loosen the strap to allow movement.
Looks like you are in the last (tightest) notch. Move it back one notch for a more comfortable (looser) fit.

I'd say it's a little bit too tight. I don't like my watch loose and like to wear it relatively tight, but not that much.

I do keep it tight when exercising but otherwise I like it a little looser. That looks pretty tight in the images but if there is no discomfort it’s probably fine.

But as said, if you have to ask…

A watch is typically worn slightly tighter than a bracelet, but not tight enough that it causes discomfort or leaves a mark. It should usually be possible to move it a bit forward or backwards with your other hand.

A very light impression is not bad and will vary depending on your skin, but yours does look tighter than necessary in the photos. I always try to set mine so that it conforms to my wrist but no tighter. I try to avoid leaving space between the band and wrist. Your watch should not move on its own but should move if you push it. You want the watch to say in place without gaps so that the heart rate readings can be done. Some people only use heart rate when working out and they will tighten their bands when working out and loosen it otherwise. That is too hard for me to remember so I keep it snug all the time.

I use a perfect fitted Braided Solo Loop and it leaves a mark, like any other watch band as well. It's absolutely comfortable, I don't feel my watch at all. Most of the people that I talked to do agree, it's normal to see a mark when you take off your watch. Especially from the watch itself and its round shape, that also has a sharp edge. I never understood why it's not perfectly rounded, but that's another story.

You want it just tight enough so it doesn't move when you shake your wrist.

In the summer if I'm not working out or doing something and just wearing it as a watch I sometimes give it a little more length.

If you wear it too tight all the time it can start to smell and get itchy due to sweat. A quick wash with soap can fix that.
