I have the new 13 MBP and i noticed today that my battery won't charge above 98%. I ran Coconut Battery and:

Original Battery Capacity: 5450 mAh
Current Battery Capacity: 5438 mAh

Current Batter Charge: 5336 mAh
Maximum Battery Charge: 5438 mAh

My macbook is 4 weeks old although I had it for 2 weeks
and only 5 load-cycles

It just seems to be stuck at 98% all day. Should I be worried?. Is it a problem that I leave it on charge almost all the time?

No that is normal even says so on the apple site somewhere. Your current battery capacity is good but you shouldnt charge it all the time while your using it its bad for the battery. Calibrate it once every month or 2 and it should be fine

You can't charge to 100% unless you use it to under 95%.
The 20mA you've lost is nothing!

Therefore your battery seems to be perfect for now... start worrying when the battery capacity reduces to 65~70% and you've only have 20~30 cycles.

It is fine, drain it to 90% then plug it in, it will charge back to 100%.

Apple puts in a safeguard to prevent the battery from being over charged, so it will not keep charging the battery until it is below 94% if it looses charge while being plugged in.

As I've stated in many of the numerous other "is my battery ok?" threads, the error margins in the software that reports capacity probably hovers between 3-7% inaccuracy. You'll probably see the percent charge jump amongst the high 90s for a while. It's perfectly normal.

Maybe with the internal batteries becoming the standard we need a "Is My Battery Ok?" sticky thread. So we eliminate this question being asked all the time.

Wow that is a lot of answers very quickly. Thanks guys!!!. How would I calibrate my battery?

And I will make sure to not leave it plugged in so much. Thanks

That is good. Even with it being a month old. Calibrate it monthly...

I don't think mine to too bad ... given that it is 17 months old. (Bought it a year ago, was at the store for 6 months...)
