This is normal. The noise you are hearing are the hard drive locks, locking to protect your hard drive.

that ticking your hearing is the Harddrive, nothing to worry about that's completely normal, enjoy your new Macbook :)

well i dont hear this when i pick up my 15" (brand new)
how/which way are you picking it up? (like a tray, carrying it under arm?)
should this be a problem then if i dont hear it as someone said it's my hard drive locking...

It probably depends on the hard drive

because I used to have the stock 160GB hard drive and it didn't make much noise but now I have a 500GB hard drive and it's really clicky, which is normal like everyone else said

i got the very basic MBP 13 with 160gb drive. I guess i'd only hear it when the room is quit or when i'm in the library.. it is kind of annoying, and i hope i get used to it.

Sometimes it doesn't click though.. when i pick it up the exact same way i picked it up before when it clicked
