I have a cheap Speck case that I bought when I got my 3GS on release day. A couple of weeks ago, a friend was handing my phone back to me and dropped it on a hard tiled floor at work. I picked it up and it was fine. It landed face down. No breaks or nothing. :)

I have the Slider case and the Invisishield for the front. That way the phone is protected both front and back :)

My stomach is too weak for such graphic photos. Please give a warning next time.

This thread is rated M18 for violence and gore. :D Anyway, this pictures make me cringe at the thought of dropping my 3GS. So far, I haven't dropped any of my iPhones ( 1G, 3G and 3GS ). I wouldn't use an iPhone naked. I'm currently using a Switcheasy Black-Red Capsule Rebel for my 3GS and I place it in a Crumpler pouch. Same applies for my iPod touch. I wouldn't take a risk with that glass screen.

People I work with all have fancy iPhone cases. Leather, chrome, fancy plastic or nothing at all. This thread is why I stick with my cheap looking DLO rubber case. It not only protects against falls, but with the rubber grips, I'm less likely to drop it in the first place. I love it even though it's a little cheap looking.

+1.. I have a cheap one too, but it works very well

I dont really get why people think that keys will scratch a glass...

I think extreme pressure is need for a key to scratch a glass.

I beg to differ. I scratched my iPod Touch's screen by having it in the same pocket as my keys. No extreme pressure necessary. Just the right key at the right angle.

Not true. What scratched your screen was probably a grain of sand or something like that. Metal is softer than glass so the keys wouldn't be able to scratch it. Sand can scratch glass easily though.
