iPod is my ipod dying? :O

lately my ipod has been acting up, like it freezes sometimes or the screen turns purple, or it glitches, freezes for a second then back to normal, then it does it again. most of this happens when im on apps, so is it the software or is my ipod getting old? (ive had it for about 4 years this year)

what type is it? try a restore and setup as new.

yes ive tried that and my ipod is the 1st gen ipod touch

If restoring (not from a backup) doesn't fix your problem, yes it's probably hardware related. A good excuse to treat yourself to a latest gen iPod touch if you ask me

try
DFU then restore as NEW, don't use backups.
