Thanks for the valuable infos. Yes, it is flashed to 2.1 and didn't know the RAM could go up to 64GB (thought 32GB).You could upgrade the GPU to a Radeon 7970.
If you flash up to MacPro2,1 then you can max the RAM at 64GB

Will consider Radeon 7970 when I will get a 4K display.
Also sounds great. Got to look for a good deal.didn't know the RAM could go up to 64GB : i upgraded to 64gb

I felt same as I browse eBay etc. The 8GBs are not so popular. Flashing GPU for Mac is a little tricky since I don't have any Win machine besides I should get a 4K display before the upgrade. Thanks anyway.I just went for 32GB, as it was cheaper that way (8 sticks 4GB for 20$), 8GB FBDIMMs are quite rare where I live (I prefer local junk shops for these old server RAM sticks)
For the GPU, 2 options for ultimate upgrade:
A flashed AMD R9-280x can get you boot screen
A Nvidia GTX980 no boot screen, and need Nvidia web driver installed before actually installing the card.
I let loose the R9-280x deal, and got GTX680 in stead (35$), as I already has the original 7300GT for boot screen when needed.
I flashed my HD5770 from windows on the mac pro via command prompt worked like a charm.I felt same as I browse eBay etc. The 8GBs are not so popular. Flashing GPU for Mac is a little tricky since I don't have any Win machine besides I should get a 4K display before the upgrade. Thanks anyway.
