I bought a new MacBook Pro 13 2020.
I updated the OS.
After that I got a notification in the mac app store that i have 3 updates: keynote, pages, numbers.
When I try to update them i get the following error message:
“Numbers cannot be updated because it was refunded or purchased with a different Apple ID”
I only have one apple id, and I only put one in the computer.
Those apps don’t appear in my purchased apps in the mac app store.
iMovie and GarageBand are also not there, but they don’t need an update. They all work as if they were never opened before.
Those apps are not connected to my apple id at all. They cannot be accepted also.
The only way to solve the problem is to delete the apps and reinstall them.
Now I am afraid I got a used MBP.
I bought it from a trustworthy company in my country. They ordered it from apple. It came in a sealed package. I checked the cycle charge, and it was one after I charged it.
Apple told me that they sold it as new. Not used, refurbished or a demo unit.
But still,I am afraid that the computer was used before.
What do you think? Is this a known problem? Do you think it is just a bug?
Thanks in advance.

Edit:
1. This is my first mac. I didn’t restore it from anything.
2.I spoked with a few Apple advisors. Some of them told me straight away that it is probably a bug, but they can’t say that for sure, because I didn’t bought it directly from Apple.
One advisor told me it means that there was another Apple ID before.
So I don’t know what to think.

Did you restore it from a Time Machine backup or used the migration assistant? I believe if you had apps installed via multiple accounts on your previous mac and migrate them to a new one this happens.

Years ago I had a similar issue after a clean install of macOS, the Mac came with of course the free version fo Garage Band, etc. but there was a problem trying to download or update them after the clean install. It was years ago so forgot the outcome, but my machine was new. If it was sealed, has only 1 cycle, and Apple said it was new I would not be worried.

I’d call Apple support and get it straightened out. No point in guessing when you can go right to the source for answers.
