Hi,

I'm on a mac pro with a 2600 video card.

The machine is primarily used for video editing.

It does get used for video games.

The first problems were while playing vids, the screen would freeze up and have strange visual elements added. I would reboot and have the screen freeze again.

Upgraded to Snow Lep and things were fine for a few days, then the same strange freeze.

I opened up the tower and sprayed out all the dust, there was significant dust inside. I also turned down the video settings for the games.

I have had no video problems since then until this morning.

Every night I set the computer to sleep mode.

This morning I came out and the computer screen was frozen on a screen saver. (I am fairly certain the computer was in sleep mode and was not woken up over night but not 100% positive)

I hard rebooted the computer and when the screen popped up, it was complete gibberish images blocks lines etc.

Any thoughts tips or advice are much appreciated.

Thanks,

ed
