If you can get it with a discount, Id say go ahead and do it. I just got new one with 30% discount, just dont see how anything that comes can make up for the price difference. You can always resell too.

Just buy it when you absolute need it. If you contemplate then just wait for awhile more.

In general, Macbook pros are very reliable machines with very little hassle. Of course, the current offer doesn't allow you to upgrade easily compare to the older generation. Needless to say, OS is very easy to adapt as well. I'm sure you'll enjoy the learning curve.

Just purchase Apple care if you are worried about those lemon defects and it helps with resale price, just a tiny bit.
It definitely save my lemon 2011 MBP gpu defects.

OP: I would also recommend checking out Mac's Refurbished store. You get the same warranty as a new laptop for about 15% discount. I have never heard a complaint from people buying through it.
