As others have said, if you want to buy on sale, now isn't a bad time. I just picked up a rMPB at Apple's site (refurb). I love it. I ordered the 2.6/16GB/512GB for 2550ish, and they sent it with the 2.7 upgrade. So basically I got the $3250 version for $2550, and it's just like new with full warranty.

If you're waiting for the next version, it's really likely at about the midway point on this lifecycle given Haswell, and if you want a deal, you'll have to wait a lot longer. Given the likely differences between the new one and this (proc/gpu/wireless AC) I had no issues pulling the trigger now. It's a great time to buy.

If your wanting to pay less than retail - now is the perfect time to buy. If your wanting to buy new then I would wait.

If you're always going to wait for the newest thing, you'll never buy anything.

Buy now and enjoy. :)
