indifferent...

Not a WOW have to have upgrade. You can still do everything in jag. there are some features that are nice... fontbook, expose... this update should have had more... the finder totally needs work, the dock needs work. In the case of the dock, that should have been updated. I was certainly not as impressed with this update the way i was with jag. I can't complain though, i got it for $7 through my university. But i would have to say, that it is an update that you can live without.

Panther finally arrived yesterday and I installed it-- at the Apple Store! For some reason, it would only install 'clean" so I've lost my iPhoto Library. Good thing i have my documents, iTunes and others backed up. I'm just now getting used to the Finder. My initial impressionon the finder was that it was redundant because I am used to clicking the DOCK. Panther does not have Sherlock??!! Why did Apple do that??!!

A clean install of Panther just doesn't put Sherlock in your dock by default. Just go into Applications and open it up and then right click on the Sherlock icon in your dock and tell it to keep in the dock.

If you can't afford to buy it, download it.

When the original mac os x (aqua) was introduced, people were skeptical and wanted to stay with Mac OS 9. Well guess what, they eventually had to admit, OS X was way better. Maybe your the kind of person who waits for Mac OS 10.4?
