Is Shazam integrated into iOS?

I was told that Shazam was integrated into iOS at some point. If it is, how do you access it?

It's integrated into Siri. You have to ask Siri what song is playing, then she will identify it using Shazam. The actual app is still available in the App Store.

This integration with Siri has a flaw... If the music is loud, it will have trouble hearing you ask 'what's playing?'

I was impressed when a friend with Android showed me that its similar Siri feature can detect music is playing automatically

This was possible in iOS 8 beta 1 and should've stayed like that ):
