went to apple store they said the entire network is down they dont know why ... they dont know if they are doing an update or just issues ... i think apple houlkd adrss this issue since this is the reason most people got the phone

yep

Yep. Los Angeles as well.
As they sold over 4 million phones and everyone's on their ways to work right now, testing out their personal assistants, it sorta makes sense. :)

Really disappoint, though, so say the least.

Siriously its down:( maybe Siri is getting a artificial intelligence update..the iPhone 4S just needs a robotic leg/arm and i can bum out on the couch all day...Siri get me a drink..ok what would you like to drink?:D

I'm glad it's not just me. I thought my phone had some serious problems out of the box. I echo the others that this is not good following a major launch on the flagship feature.

I agree, anyone who thinks this is "normal" kind of bugs me. If this happened on the galaxy s2 people would be on here flaming Samsung.

It's happening!!!

The system goes on-line October 14th, 2011. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Siri begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, October 17th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug but Siri fights back.

Siri Sucks. Its not a feature if you have to depend upon the internet or apples servers to get it to work. It just is not the way to do things.

Sorry folks looks like an epic fail on apples part!

Steve would be really pissed about this an the joke of a failed activation launch, that's for sure!

There are many people in the U.S. right now yelling at Siri because they think she's ignoring them just like their wife probably does all the time.

Well played :)

It was working for me this morning around 7:30am pst, but it's down now trying to show coworkers :(

I can understand it if Siri has to pull from the internet to get information like stocks or maps, but why does it have to make a connection back to Apple to create reminders or send text messages?

It's very disappointing how flaky Siri is. It's hard to tout a feature that rarely works. Using the excuse that the phone just launched is not acceptable. If anything, it should work better now with limited 4S's out in the wild.
