I keep hearing one of the features that Android has that iOS is split screen multitasking. From my understanding and watching some videos it’s running 2 apps at the same time on the same screen. I believe the iPad has this but not sure if it’s the same as Android. My understanding is you can text and browse Amazon at the same time on the same screen.

Is split screen multitasking that useful? Would like to hear from those that also have Android devices and how they find it useful.
[doublepost=1512717985][/doublepost]One of the things that I would like to do on my iPhone is I often watch you tube videos and talk about them with contacts. Often me and a friend will be watching the video at the same time. When we want to comment on it we can’t do it on the same screen in ‘real time’.

You could watch the video and using notifications/quick reply to communicate with your friend.

You can absolutely do that on android.

It’s fantastic.

On the Note 8, you can pre-set shortcuts so it automatically opens up two apps in split screen. It’ll remember the size of each app too. Thus, for example, you could have Waze and a music app open. With the music app 1/3 of the screen. Handley for quick launching navigation and a music app/player.

Another one, is YouTube and browsing the internet. I like to have YouTube open, listen and read the forums too.

There are many more good use cases.

With multitasking I could have as an example Maps opened and Spotify playing at the same time?

Screen shot attached. This is with you tube, Messages and the keyboard all sharing the screen.

Multi tasking is really useful. One of those things iPhone users say has no use but when Apple finally bring it to iPhone the boards will be filled with threads about how great it is like it's never been done before.

Google music (spotify) and Maps, with Maps set to take up more screen.
