I am wondering whether to shell out the extra money for the ssd on the mbp. Is it worth it. Thanks

Agree with above posters. The new MBP has the hard drive bay under one cover next to the battery, so very easy for you to change it out. I think 128GB SSDs go for as low as $500 now, if not less, so Apple charging ~$4k is kinda crazy.

There's already a review showing the ease of replacement. It's EXTREMELY easy so wait a few months and buy it on Newegg.com for half-price.

Too bad switching out the HDD voids warranty on the entire laptop.... right?

er the SSD upgrade is $450; that's a really good price... Where are you getting $4K from?
