this may be my main reason for buying the 27'' imac.

i already have late 2008 MBP 15''.

Can't you just buy apple tv and stream your content? Certainly ALOT cheaper.

Would have to agree here, if you are just buying the 27" for watching anime, spend $1000 on a 46" 1080p HDTV and $99 on an appleTV and stream from your macbook pro.

Then take the above advice and spend your money on a nice TV and Apple TV. You don't need another mac surely, thats crazy.

well i said it may be my main reason for watching videos and i have another reasons like gaming.

hmm, sounds to me that you already have your mind made up since you have just bought up additional reasons.

We have gave you the best advice, if you do WANT another Imac and can afford it, knock yourself out : )

Why don't you just go into an apple store and test it out for yourself?

already tested but i want your opinions.

i made this topic to see people opinions not to make my mind.

i said 'it may' not like 'it is my main reason'

I'm thinking the OP is looking for input on matters like: Is 27" a good size for this use, does it play the videos/movies/etc. smoothly, etc.

Watching my movies and tv shows that I've purchased on iTunes is one of the main reasons I've purchased the new 27" iMac, and I was hoping to see some opinions on the issue.

Sure, I love onions!

Anyway, I think a 21.5" is great also for viewing videos. But, if you have the cash to go all out, might as well go for the maxed 27" and the excellent resolution!

and i love onions too.

well i was thinking about the 21.5'' but i heard people saying going from 15'' to 21.5'' is not enough.

If one of your primary reasons is to watch movies, don't waste your money. Just spend $350 on a 1080p 32" TV (I have an LG of that spec, and it's great), and watch your stuff on that, it would look far better. You could hook your MBP up to it as well if you would like.

Certainly you don't need the opinions of strangers on how to spend your money...

Sounds like you don't need an iMac for watching movies, but if you have the cash, who's to stop you?

haha nice joke.
and i like osx better then windows

I wasnt joking.

Theres no way on earth a 27" iMac will be great for watching movies. They will be all jagged an pixelated. It barely has enough power to even power the screen.

I see a nice PC in your future.

Pixalated ?Really?

But they are two different machines. I think a 21.5" will suffice. It is only worth jumping to the 27" ones if you plan on doing heavier work video editing and all that crazy stuff.

It will look horrible. And games will suck.

does anyone agree with him ?

is the 27'' really bad for watching anime/movies ?
