with the iPhones being priced into luxury ville , i'm giving thoughts of upgrading this year from a 128gb SE to 64gb 8Plus. Seems the 8plus is a good deal with those new phones out and the Product rd is a great looking phone, wondering how users think the processor will hang for the next year or 2.

Also i've had about 90gb consistently free on my phone for some time i'm thinking i could make 64gb work

8/8 Plus is awesome phone. I skipped X for it. Still rocks and iOS 12 is great with it. I have no doubt it would do very well for 2 more years.

what size did you get?

I have a 64 GB 8 since December '17 and I am more than satisfied with it! It has been working great even on iOS 11. I believe it will be even better on 12 after the official release. I think your choice is wise. Try with 64 GB and if it is not enough, you can go for an iCloud subscription at every time.

I agree with you on the 8 plus (it has 90% of what the new XS phones have ) & your choice in Sports teams. Go Dawgs !!

You're going to miss your iPhone SE. I went from iPhone X to iPhone 8 and settled on the iPhone SE. I missed the small factor so much, I was willing to make a lot of sacrifices in terms of screen size.

Surprisingly, I can do everything on my SE that I could on the other phones. I didn't use any of the gimmicky stuff.

My advice: save your money. Stick to your iPhone SE and wait for iOS 12 to come out tomorrow. My SE runs perfectly fine and fast on latest version of iOS 11. I can only imagine how much faster it will be tomorrow when I upgrade to iOS 12 with its supposed performance enhancements.

The iPhone 8+ is a great phone, but it's still much bigger and heavier than the SE. May not seem like it at first glance, but you'll definitely notice it.

if's an option i'm not doing anything until i read real usage reviews of the new phones i do like my se a lot

I have the 8 Plus and honestly it’s awesome. Has pretty all the features of the X and works fantastic. With how prices are here in Canada I don’t see why the 8 Plus won’t last me 2-3 more years. I have the 64GB with 40.96GB available still. Its a great device and if you don’t need the latest it’s a good deal now.

Looking at the first looks online i've pretty much decided the only phone i would order of the new phones would be the max, the resolution on the R Being a downgrade on the 8 is just a deal breaker, i'm just too much of a screen junkie. So the 8 in the old style or the max is the way to go if i upgrade at all

It has been the politcal correctness to support iPhone SE on Mac Rumors and hate all larger phones.

lol what?

What does preferring a smaller phone have to do with "hate"?

Some people prefer a smaller phone. It's something that people with larger iPhones appear to have a problem with as of lately. They dismiss (or ignore) the fact that there is an audience that prefers smaller iPhones. What part of that don't you understand? More people prefer the SE than you and others imagine. And size is NOT the only reason why they prefer it. Another huge factor is price. It's a true "budget" iPhone in every sense of the word.

Not everyone is into big phones. Not everyone wants to carry an iPad-looking device in their pocket. Get over it.

The iPhone 8 has the same internals as the X. The main differences are screen resolution/size, TouchID vs FaceID and optical image stability for the rear distance camera (the x has it, the 8 does not).

So the 8 and 8 Plus will be supported and will work for as long as the X.

Now is a great time to get an 8 or 8 Plus because you’ll get a great price and fairly new hardware.
