Wellmaybe I should be more exact in the phrase of " this is nothing"

It is something its great but not a THING that I would brag about.

I would brag more about accomplishment or something more personal.

But Now that I have loaded up Photoshop its OH MY GOD!

Those 300 dpi file look so much better.

I was wanting to switch up to 600 or higher dpi and as a previous poster replied , its looks great for SHOP work.

So I imagine that highDPi 3d work would be great on this LCD, but the small work with nodes could prove painful. but then I could span over to the Lappy for that maybe?

Anyone working with high dpi files out there, ?

Having the best of everything is compensating for having a little of something else. ;)
Stunted social skills or a personality problem would be my guess.

Or you live in California ...

wow , people get upset and judgemental about others having the best!?

Actually I work hard and am rewarded for my work and I buy things that I like to own, I dont think that its any of those stated perceptions.

Also I live in Oregon!

Are you upset about my expensive suits etc? LOL

My girlfriend is also extremely beautiful, is that bad?
Actually I also buy alot of things for my friends and family.
Is generosity a bad trait also?

I make money I spend money.

You never know when that truck is going to hit uninvited.

I am actually enjoying this thread and attempting to figure out the ergonomics of the 30".

Any helpful posts about working with apps and high dpi's is very much appreciated.

On that note, i find that SHOP work is always best if it can viewed at 100%
due to the manner in which SHOP renders other view sizes!

But on the 23" that can be done also , although at an obviously loss of size.

Well, i think that personal issues can be debated endlessly and are not really the issue.

I mean truth is a relative matter best left to other venues other than an APPLE forum, for me at least.

I really want to talk about the 30" ACD, thanks.

thanks

Yeah, Grokgod that comment wasn't needed, but who cares, everyone makes mistakes or misinterprets stuff on the net. But, I wonder the same thing, I have 2 23"'s and I was thinking maybe I could consolidate and have just one 30" panel. So I got out the measuring tape and the additional 7" is quite a lot! I suppose I could buy one, try it out and if it doesn't work for me, return it?

I keep on trying to imagine how much bigger the 30" would be, I can't seem to find a 30" ACD beside a 23" ACD. Hmmm...

Thats certainly an interesting idea.

I was considering the 2 /23" acd's

But thought that the desk space that was taken would be rather alot.

What is your experience with the 2 LCD's
what are the reasons that you were considering consolidating into 1 30"?

I really like the 23" when I had one but i felt that the Contrast ratio specs were not up to par and was hoping that the 30" would be superior.

Wish I had them side by side to compare. :)

Of course returning is possible if you dont like it depending on where you bought it! Let me know what you decide.

I think that the 7 inches is a very BIG difference, maybe too much?

For my purposes, a 30" would be massive overkill, and would really invade my home.

I can see, however, that people in digital imaging and video could put it to great use. The execs who put them on his desk, however, are just making up for the lack of size elsewhere in most cases.

I had two 23" displays and I really prefer the 30". It's a personal choice; I like having the monitor "centered" instead of staring at two bezels.

carletonmusic, thanks for the input.

Could you tell me some specifics of what you liked better, if there was anything other than the center bevel.

I can see how that would be irritating.

I was going to go with 1 23" so the bevel would not happen for me/

How did you feel about the font sizes etc?

thanks:D

I, for one, would welcome any 30" LCD invaders. :) They can probe me, too.

I enjoy the two monitors because each one is like a 'stack of paper' on my desk. Example, I can have MacRumors:p , iTunes, FTP, Mail etc on the left screen and on the right screen I have my main pile of work with Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator etc etc. Or I can do work on one while having a movie play on another.

My reasons for consolidating? To free up desk space-right now I have an L-shaped desk where it's curved in the corner so my monitors are not perfectly side-by-side, but rather at a 160º angle (guessing) to each other so it takes up a lot of space. Where as if I had a 30" monitor it would fit right in the middle. I also thought about consolidating because I mostly stare at one monitor, the monitor to my left when it does gets used-I only fill up ?50% of the screen.

It's something I've thought about, but I'm in no rush to make a decision soon. If I stumble across some money, or go online when I'm drunk with my Credit card handy, I may purchase a 30" and have both a 23" & a 30" setup! Then, see what I like and sell the 23's or whatever.

I'm going searching for a picture with a 23" by a 30"......help me! :p

I have one ...

I have one, and you'd need to pry it from my cold dead hands. I absolutely love having everything on the screen at one time.

After a while, it makes the 20" displays on my other mac and my PC look small, not the other way around.

M.

I think that he means that instead of making the 30" look huge it makes the 20" look tiny.

Hi GrokGod!

Your posts make me laugh. :D The best deserves the best!

Maybe you need another smaller LCD to put next to you for reading text, and looking at details.

And then you can put your shiny 30" one farther away so you can see the composition of your art.

Your girlfriend's lucky.:p

With love,
blissgirl

How many 30" displays could you run on a PowerMac at full res with the desktop stretched across them all?

ok.Day 4!

I think that the 30" is starting to look a little smaller.

Of course it blocks out everything beyond my desk that I used to look at to readjust my eyes.

In fact the wall is missing or obscured by it.

Oh forget it, its still huge.

I have noticed that I can read the menu and text leaning back which I could never do on my MBP.
