I’ve had this device for almost a month and I can go several days without charging it with continuous use.
I’m truly impressed with the A12’s performance and battery life in this device. My iPad Pro 10.5 dies much quicker than this device.

I use it at work and charge it every 3 days. Id say i use it roughly 4 hours per work day. The battery on this is amazing

Don’t have an Air 3 but I have a Mini 5 and thought it became a lot less impressive after a few months. Will be interesting to see if the Air 3 goes the same way.

Well, 10 hours as advertised. Only thing can beat the battery is Procreate. I can get 6 hours of I draw on 50% brightness.

I've heard good things about the battery life of it.

I also have the mini 5 which I’m still impressed with the battery life on it. Hopefully it won’t go down like yours did...

Battery life of the Air3 is really awesome. It's iphone SOC with big ipad battery.
Yep. That's one thing I really appreciate about the basic iPads and now the new iPad Air 3.

All iPads have good battery life and age well.
They age better than iPhones. Alas, my iPad Pro 9.7 (A9X) didn't fare quite as well as my other iPads.

When I upgraded from the iPad 4 to the iPad Pro 10.5", I realized how good the iPad 4's battery life actually was. The 10.5" Pro has excellent battery life, but the iPad 4 is better in that aspect. I guess battery life had to be sacrificed for thinness and processing power.

2017 iPad 5 (A9, 32.9 Wh) and 2018 iPad 6 (A10, 32.9 Wh) do quite well matching the iPad 4's (A6X, 42.5 Wh) battery life.

The iPad air 3 battery is the best one I had from all my iPad ever. Even when the brightness is maxed the battery will not drain that much and this iPad have great standby battery life as well.

My new 12.9 2018 iPad pro battery life is worst than the air 3 for exemple. The battery quickly drain while using it and so far it have poor standby battery life.

Every iPad I've ever owned, including the Air 3, regularly exceeds Apple's stated 10 hours.
I was getting 16+ hours onscreen time with the iPad 4 though so the Air, Air 2 and Pro 9.7 were downgrades in comparison. Of course, performance on latter iPads was markedly improved over the iPad 4.

Plus even degraded standby time on iPad 4 is still very good. The Pro 9.7 meanwhile is seeing significantly faster drain on standby when battery goes below 50%. Granted, the Pro 9.7 saw very heavy use which likely contributed to the battery's quicker demise. The iPad 4 was always alternating with another device (iPad 3 followed by OG iPad Air) so at worst, it only had half the battery wear.

The basic A9/A10 iPads and I guess now the Air 3 are the only ones I know of that match or exceed iPad 4 battery life. Phone chipset + large battery makes for a very good combo in that regard.

If I could do a BTO iPad, I would choose:
iPad Air 3 body (with TouchID and laminated display)
Apple A12
6+GB RAM
1TB storage
USB-C
quad speakers
LED flash

This is an old post but I have a question. I am beyond impressed with my air 3 battery. But I’m think of returning it and possibly going with a pro lol.

According to google my air 3 battery size is 11000 mAh????? Is that true? Seems unbelievable

it says the pro battery is smaller. I feel like this can’t be true

I recently swapped at the store my Gen 3 with white spot, for new one. Wife bought a Pro when I got the original Air and she said it was ridiculous how often she had to charge the Pro. Friend at work bought her Pro same time as wife and she complains of same thing. The Air just sips power.

I'm pretty sure that the result you found online was about the original iPad 3 from 2012, which had a giant battery due to its thickness and the Retina Display. The iPad 3 and iPad 4 had >10,000 mAh batteries, but batteries of that size have not appeared in any recent iPads (as far as I know).

I've always found full sized iPads to have outstanding battery life, usually even better than the 10 hours of use that Apple promises. Baring heavy use, charging only once or twice a week isn't unheard of.

You’re right! The article says iPad air 3 but in context it’s clearly not.
