How precise is it? I don't really know if I can trust it or not. Sometime it makes my screen too dark, maybe it isn't? While in normal light conditions, or bright daylight, it gets great.. the only time I feel as if it could be wrong, is in a very dark room.

How do you feel about it? How bright is your backlight when working or playing in total darkness? Mine turn the backlight all the way down, one bar max.

It's good. But it doesn't really adjust the brightness noticeably. I may have switched it off though.

On my 11" Air it works well enough at figuring out when to turn on the keyboard backlights, but never really seems to change the LCD backlight output. Was the same with my... *thinks* 2007 MBP.
