There is another thread about "Mouse is the elephant in the room" for which the desire to have a mouse R trackpad is desired... And frankly A lot of people use an external keyboard with the IPP, which makes the IPP effectively become a LAPTOP (Screen and keyboard), BUT without a mouse (trackpad)... No one would EVER use a laptop without pointing capabilities. And I realize you CAN use your finger, but how about THE PENCIL... Forgive me I don't have one, but CAN the pencil...

Click on a button on a screen to activate it?
Select text for copy?
Select a time line for a video and move the time?
Select a place holder(book mark) in safari to navigate to a new site?
Select a position on a map?

Would a better name for the pencil be the wand? Im a Harry Potter fan....

Yes the Pencil can do all of this.

No, they should not have called it the wand.

Any place but here or there....
As zhenya aptly said it can do all those things, OP. It's absolutely wonderful with the improved latency.

and now, silly response:

If it was a wand, I would expect it to make things magically appear and disappear... :p because I think of wands as wizard gear. I'm glad it's a Pencil.
