Is the Apple TV 2nd Gen Special?

Hi,

While aimlessly browsing eBay and CEX tonight, I came across something I thought was really quite unussual - the older 2nd Gen Version of the Apple TV's price is through the roof (selling for £160 at CEX!) while the later 3rd Gen's isn't (selling for more like £70 at CEX)

Is there any reason why?

The 2nd gens can be jailbroken, while the 3rd gens cannot.

Going off of what lunaoso said, the ATV v.2 can be jailbroken, and people can people things like XBMC on it. Its pretty cool.
