I'm considering getting an Apple Watch. I've been holding off since the release but I really like tech products. Overall, is the Apple Watch as functional as you thought it would be and would you suggest it to other Apple friends?
I'm one that promotes Apple products to my friends. I buy 95% of everything and I _mean_every product & peripherals Apple sells. And have for years. Both for business and personal, but for fun as well.I'm considering getting an Apple Watch. I've been holding off since the release but I really like tech products. - I wish there was a way to make a call and answer it via bluetooth headphones vs. having to push a button on my phone.
EnjoyThanks for the replies! I stopped by the Apple Store yesterday. First to get the new Apple TV but it wasn't in stock yet so I ordered that online when I got home. Then I spent some time with the 27" 5K iMac. Very nice but I didn't see it being worth me spending close to $2500. My current Mac Mini with Thunderbolt display works fine. Then I ventured over to the watch section. I love new technology and have been eyeing the AW since it was released. Looked at one of the stainless versions with the classic buckle for a little while. I then walked about $811.00 lighter.
I tend to have my clearest thoughts of the day when I first wake up. I woke up asking myself why I spent over $800.00 on a watch and do I really need it? I don't need it but it's interesting. Maybe I should have bought the less expensive Sport version without Apple Care for about $400.00 with tax.
So far the watch does most of the same things that my phone does. I find the heart rate monitor to be interesting along with making calls and controlling my music without pulling out the phone. I'll give it more time to see how it goes.
Enjoy
You got AppleCare with it then?
I didn't take it out right away but thinking I may take it out before the December deadlineYes. I originally said "no" then remembered some threads about people banging/scratching their watches. The watch costs as much as an iPad, it will be worn daily and has no protection so I figured the coverage would be worth it.

Too expensive. iPod Touch plus Apple TV will stream almost everything you need (yes, really; it has Safari, right?).no, i wish i never bought it. the early adoperts hype got the best of me. should have bought a mac mini for streaming instead
iPod cant store 1TB+ of tv shows / moviesToo expensive. iPod Touch plus Apple TV will stream almost everything you need (yes, really; it has Safari, right?).
More so, and yes I do recommend it.Overall, is the Apple Watch as functional as you thought it would be and would you suggest it to other Apple friends?
I had an androidwear watch previously... and like this better. That said, the use case for me isn't really strong. If I had to sell the watch, I would not miss it much... but at the same time, It is the first watch I'll reach for in the morning.
I've tried both. Between android wear (moto 360 gen 1 $100) and an apple watch ($350-400) the apple the apple watch currently doesn't add an additional $250-300 worth of functionality. Plus if you want to use a "nice" band with your sports edition it could cost you another $100. It's hard to justify that difference in price on top of the watch OS having its own issues with it's advertised features.
I currently am using an aw
