Is the backlight a part on its own?

Hi, I have a replacement 17" MBP because my first one had backlight issues.. now this one also has backlight bleeding along the bottom, so I was wondering.. if Apple replaces the part, do they only replace the backlight (could they?) or the whole display?

The whole display, as the backlight is part of the display and comes with it when Apple gets the display from its manufacturer.

Although (for the sake of correct info) it is possible to replace the backlight on your LCD monitor.. it's just not easy. at all. 😛
