So maybe I am just unlucky with apple but I had to return 4-5 iPhone 7s due to really uneven screens and dead pixels. I now have a iPhone which I thought had a really even display until yesterday when I moved my phone into landscape mode to read.

You can try this if you are interested in seeing it :

1. Turn off true tone. EDIT : Actually works with true tone on too.

2. Open safari. Open google.com

3. Rotate phone to the left so the earpiece speaker is on the left and charging port on the right.

4. Compare the grey areas marked in the screenshot on your screen. They are slightly different for me. The left side is slightly bluish grey vs the yellowish grey at the edge near the home button.

If you think this is because of transparency, you may try it with gboard or swiftkey because they have white themes with no transparency.

I personally think it may have to do with the screen being top lit. I tried this on mine, dads and mom's iphone. All are same.

THANKS!

Every iPhone I’ve seen has this issue. Going all the way back to the 3G. It used to bother me immensely. I’ve accepted it.

My Samsung plasma has this. My LG LED TV has it too if you look for it.

There isn’t a screen technology that I’ve seen that doesn’t suffer from this.

People will come on here and say otherwise, they’re simply less tuned into it. I wouldn’t believe them.

I have had the same experience but the only thing I dont understand is how cheaper phones are able to get much better uniformity overall.

Not sure what you want from this thread, someone to tell you their screen is great?

Go into an Apple Store and compare the display phones to your phone. Make sure brightness is at the same level.

As I said previously, there will be countless people that will say their screen is even, but that doesn’t make it so. You’re clearly susceptible to noticing this, so a trip to the Apple Store is the only way to answer your question.

If you find other screens are more uniform than yours, take it up with Apple and get it replaced.
