Is the flash chip on the logicboard?

Hi all,

I am wondering if the flash chip is on the logic board because I currently have a Black 8gb 3G and will soon have white 16gb 3G and I want the larger storage but want to keep the black back. I know I can actually swap the backs but that requires me to take everything apart where as the work required to swap logic boards is a little easier and faster. But if the flash chip isn't on the logic board its not any faster.
