Is the font size on sites smaller in Safari with iOS 12?

Just upgraded to iOS 12 and the font definitely seems smaller across different sites. It’s subtle, but it’s enough to make me struggle to see things as comfortably as I was before. Anyone else seeing this?

In further thinking, perhaps this is to accomodate new iPads that will increase slightly with less bezels? If true, it’s not very optimized for older devices.
