iPod touch Is the front & rear camera the same in terms of picture quality for stills?

I think the specs page said front camera is "VGA" quality, which likely represents 640x480...that is the industry standard for "VGA" quality.

The back camera appears to be slightly higher resolution, but still in the sub-1megapixel range.

If my memory serves correct, the back camera makes use of a .7 megapixel camera, which is only going to be of a slightly higher quality compared to say, a VGA camera. Point is, you probably won't want to throw away your point/shoot camera any time soon.
