After consideration, I'm going with the iPad Air 2. The $479 price at Staples is perfect, but I don't want to buy it now and have a better deal come out. Should I do the staples offer now or wait? Could it be discounted even more?

Go with that iPad Air 2, you get the A8 CPU, plus 2GB RAM.

I am type no this on a iPad 4 running iOS 9.2 Public Beta, it's much smoother and faster than iOS 9.1, BUT not worth spending money on at this point, the A6X is a capable CPU, yes, with a powerful GPU for its time, but it is old and 32bit, meaning you cannot even install Ad Blocking software, the ad blocking in iOS is only supported by 64bit iOS devices, stupid I know, but that's just the way it is.

The iPad Air 2 is far more future proof.

I almost got the Air 2, but have decided to spend more and get the iPad Pro LTE 128GB, keep that for 2-3years. Sometimes it's better to spend more and get much further, than to spend less only to have to upgrade much sooner.

Not really. Get the Air 2. You won't regret.

You get:

-Better display
-Touch ID
-Approximately 300% better CPU and GPU performance if not more.
-Thinner and lighter structure.
-Multitasking
-It will last for longer time and get future updates.
-More color options.

I currently have an iPad 4. It's a brilliant machine. I run iOS 9 on it, and it's actually snappier than iOS 8 was, from what I remember at least.

I'll have a hard time letting go of this one. I'm a huge fan of the "curved" edge design as opposed to the flat design of the newer iPads. I also miss when iPads were pure aluminum in the back. That being said, you can't go wrong with this iPad.

If you get get a good deal on one, go for it.

All other stats aside, form my perspective all models pre-Air are just too heavy for their size. The Air drops to around 1 pound and can be fairly comfortably held with one hand for long periods of time. The iPad 4 is nearly as heavy as the iPad Pro. Obviously this may or may not be a factor depending on how you use the device.

There may be some deals on the Air 2 after the Pro comes out and it's officially "last generation" tech.

It's the last day of the staples deal. I don't know if I should go for that deal. I know Sam's Club is having a deal next Saturday, but supply of that may not last enough for me to get one. I am not a Sam's Club member anyway. Should I do the staples deal or wait for another one?

Just use a credit card that offers price protection and buy it with no regrets.

You should use the cartwheel app from Target to get an extra 10% off after getting them to price-match Staple's price. That would be your best bet.

I was recently given a bonus and now I can expand my budget a bit more. I am interested in buying the iPad Pro from Macmall. They have it for $787 with no sales tax. With my uses, downloading apps, checking email, using safari, and listening to music, do I need the iPad Pro? Or is the iPad Air 2 still a better choice?
