As foldable phones become more common, it fells like the iPad has lost quite a few of its original use cases.

No, the iPad will be much cheaper, and the full size 11-13" iPads are not doing to work very well as a foldable.

A $600 iPad mini with basically no moving parts and a durable glass display and a $2000 foldable iPhone are not interchangeable devices; they serve two entirely different market segments.

Just because a different variant or competing product comes out doesn’t mean that use cases change. Besides, the foldable devices are more expensive than existing tablets so they will never completely replace them.
