I was at Target earlier tonight, and was playing around with the mini4.

I didn't realize that side by side multitasking was also available on the mini. I thought only slide over and pip...

Anyhow, add that to the list of things that make it a worthy upgrade to the mini2!

It's basically a mini iPad Air 2.

If you can have only one device 5.7". Two, 5.7" and 13". Three, 5.7", 13" and 8".

I like how you speak on behalf of all of us. :)

Don't forget that even though the 6s Plus is 5.5" and the mini 4 is 7.9", the aspect ratios are not the same which leads to a much different viewing experience. The mini 4 is a proper tablet and is much better for tablet-y type stuff than the quick-glance-and-go screen of the 6s Plus.

Got a Mini 2 and 6 Plus. Tbh i like my Mini 2 waay better, because of 2K screen and bigger/greater display overall+ for Movies and Games, Web surfing and so on :) the experince on an iPhone just dont beat iPad. thinking about a Mini 4 myselff :) but a little worried if its powerfull enouth

Yes from me as well. I hate surfing the net on phones. I don't care how much bigger they've gotten. Mini all the way.

I have the 6S Plus and just went through this exact decision process. In the end, I decided to sell my Air 2 and to pick up the Mini 4, and have no regrets whatsoever. The additional screen real estate (as compared to my iPhone), combined with the fact that the Mini 4 can run iPad apps, in conjunction with its size, make it an awesomely portable machine that can do a little more - a little more easily - than the 6S Plus.

I love the 6S Plus but really appreciate being able to grab the Mini 4 and go.

One other point: I broke from my tradition and picked up a cellular Mini 4 and just love having an always-on LTE connection. It just makes the Mini that much more portable and immediately useable. I know hotspotting exists, and I've used it for years, but despite it becoming a more convenient option, it's still not as convenient and nowhere near as fast (download/upload speed), at least in my neck of the woods, as a cellular connection is.

Awesome post man.. Thanks

I was very interested in the pro, but I am glad I decided to go with the air 2 instead. ( got it for 125 off a couple of days ago! )

The mini 4 is a great product don't get me wrong, but to me it feels like if you had both the 11 inch and 13 in MacBook Airs. Doesn't make too much sense.

Go with the Air 2!

I dropped my iPad Air 2 and broke it. We have others in the office so I could have just commandeered another one, but I realized that the iPad Air 2 is now over a year old and and overdue for an upgrade. So I jumped the Mini 4 instead. Pretty close to the same specs/experience, just in smaller size.

I can't stand buying hardware that is already obsolete and/or about to go that way. Just me maybe.

At any rate, the one thing I'm not too happy about with the Mini 4 is the current keyboard/case combo's out for it. I bought both the Logitech Focus and the Zagg device. Not really all that happy with either right now. I seldom use the keyboard, but like to have it as an option when I'm doing a lot of emails after hours. So something to consider....because with the smaller screen of the Mini 4 vs Air 2, the on-screen keyboard takes up a LOT of screen real estate.

This is funny. Because the mini 4 is actually on the same year hardware as the Air 2 but is less powerful.

My thoughts exactly.

I know what was meant, however. I can relate. I hate buying an "old specs" device.

Maybe buying it in a new form factor (mini4) is what this person meant

and update...

Problems with my 6s+ so back that went. I bought another iPad Mini 4 and a 5s (the build quality on 6 and 6s iPhones have not been good for me.)

I'm finding this is a good combination for me, so whatever works for you OP, go for it.

No, for me. I went from the Mini 2 to Air 2. The Mini size wasn't THAT much bigger than my 6 Plus. I wanted:

small 5.5" (iPhone 6 Plus)
medium 9.7" (Air 2)
large 13.3" (Macbook Pro)
