If you are OK with a yellow tint then sure Mini is great! If not then get the SE. i am on my 5th replacement under the 14 day return period and all of then have had a terrible yellow tint. For some people that is OK but for me is not. It makes the screen look terrible and the letters are hard to read because of the yellow tint.

I must have just gotten lucky- I have a launch day mini- no yellow tint at all.

Yes same, no yellow tint even with true tone on. I seem to have got lucky with my day 1 ipad air 4 aswell, no light bleed or washed out screen at all, essentially identical contrast to the ipad pro 11 screen.

smaller than the XR = iPhone 12 or pro, perfect size! IMO and much better function.... if you get the mini you literally will have to change all the time and the photo quality is horrible!
Is the photo quality any different than the 12?

When I was looking at these a while ago there seemed to be somewhat of a distaste for the 12 mini.

I have a distaste for my current XR and I’d like something better - AND SMALLER.

Just wondering if those earlier comments I read were unfounded or not? Thanks.

You have to have teh Little Bugger in your hands for a while to know . . .

. . . I've been rockin' it since Launch, and could not be happier.

Had a phone plan about to lapse. Was with an XR, which was perfectly fine and I considered just picking up a monthly BYOP plan - if nothing else to use until the fall when next models out. But in the end, I negotiated a new plan with twice as much data and, with a trade-in on my XR towards the Mini, the whole works was less than my old plan.

I've just had the Mini this week and I'm liking the return to a more pocketable device - and it does what it I need it to do. Sure its now nearly a year old, but really, Apple has gotten to the point with their phones and OS where they can only reinvent the wheel so many times - and in reading all the speculation on what might come in the Fall, nothing screamed to me "Wait!".

I guess I'll just have to see if that was the right call...

The 12 and the Mini have the exact same cameras; 100% identical and I can go a whole day without having to charge my mini. I get up at 0430 and goto bed around 2130, and with have about 30% remaining, usually.

I've had the 8 Plus and an 11 and am really happy to have a smaller phone!

Do u want it right straight ? I was an android fan for almost all my life but this masterpiece the mini 12 makes me love apple and never turn again to android craps as long as apple produces the mini series..
Note : writing this review from iphone 12 mini 128 GB blue

Was carrying two phones (XR and 7) and just transitioned to a 12 Mini. I’ve held the 12 and considered it, but ultimately this works best for me.

SOT is about 5 hours with no charging during the day with 20/30 percent left over but I’m never far away from a charger if needed.

Don't all the iPhone 12's have the same camera system if you don't zoom past 2x?

I really do like mine. Don't need a giant phone for my pocket. Have a MacBook to read & watch things on. Battery could be better, is my only complaint.

What yellow tint??
I've been using mine for months with no issues. Even the battery life is kinda good.

I’m sure most of the distaste you saw for the mini were either from people who like massive phones and love to see every other phone fail so they feel validated in their decisions, or from people who claimed to want a smaller phone but somehow didn’t understand that means the screen has to be smaller, too. I saw too many people say they bought a mini because they wanted a smaller phone, but then return it because the screen was too small. Like, what?

If you actually want a small phone and realize that means a smaller screen, then I’m sure you’ll like the mini. Coming from the 11 Pro, I do miss the telephoto lens sometimes, and I definitely miss the insane battery life. Though my mini has never died on me, I am a lot more conscious about the battery life on it than I was on my 11 Pro, and do have to change my use occasionally to make sure it lasts. Other than that, I love everything else about my mini.

If it were in fact doable with today’s tech, I’d gladly pay $2000 USD for a Mini Pro with all the Pro-features and a ~3000mAh battery, in a slightly thicker form factor.

Edit: I realise that I’m in the minority, but hey, there might be an exclusive (and lucrative) market for Pro-Minis 🤷‍♂️ There are many of us who prefer the smaller form factor without having to compromise on features…

Barbareren, what do you think of the Galaxy Z Flip 3? Personally i think its just stunning. If Apple do discontinue the Mini, then i hope they release something like the Z Flip which will give us a decent alternative to the Mini when in clamshell mode, but also give us a 6.7” screen when open. Basically like a 12 mini and 12 pro max in one device lol

I’m very interested in the idea of a foldable phone. From what I’ve read, the Z Flip 3 is even waterproof… that’s impressive

Hi how are people finding the quality of the display for watching YouTube ect and the speakers

I've just bought the Lenovo dual 2 but it's too buggy so was looking to try a iPhone properly for the first time

And is battery life as bad as people are making out as I don't really game

Thanks
The speakers in the 12 mini are noticeably worse than the 11 or OGSE. They're about a half step away from poor IMO.

I really want one but I see so many people who ended up with cracks in theirs. So I’m very weary.

Yes, but these folded galaxy phones are getting more durable with each generation, with the new ones now being waterproof and having gorilla glass victus etc. Definitely moving in the right direction with these kind of phones, and you can be sure that the Apple version will take advantage of samsungs beta testing to make their version almost perfect.
