Is the iPhone 3G and 3GS digitizer the same part?

I am looking to repair an iPhone 3GS and not sure if a 3G digitizer will work.

no most absolutely not the same part, same size, etc, but the touch screens connector on to the logic board is just a tiny bit bigger on the 3g, so it doesnt fit properly, and then the touch reacts in very crazy ways.
