I was thinking about getting the Moto G5 Plus. But now I'm thinking of getting an iPhone 5S.

Is the iPhone 5S worth it in 2017? It's currently going for $199 (Full retail price) at Best Buy, but time to time it can go as low as $159. At Best Buy, the only storage option is 16GB. My budget is $249.

I still think the 5S is a great iPhone and it's still running. And the good news, is it still going to be supported through iOS 11. How it will perform with iOS 11, is another discussion.

But if you can find the iPhone 5s below $250, I think that's a fairly competitive price.

I agree. The 5S is an excellent phone and just the right size for me. I actually got mine at Best Buy for only US$1 on some super-duper Verizon upgrade weekend about a year and a half ago. I DO wish I had more storage though, as the 16 gb fills up pretty fast these days if you take lots of photos or have some larger apps.

I am sure 5S is very much a serviceable phone. That said, I bought a 64gb SE via Swappa for $350 (and sold my 32gb 5S for $150ish) a few months ago and have been very satisfied with it. Everything seems quicker - with the 5S, I was a bit frustrated with occasional lags to play video clips and stuff.

Yes, if you're looking for a decent inexpensive phone it is worth it in 2017 with 64 bit, Touch ID, iOS 11 compatible.

But try to find it with AT LEAST 64 Gb, otherwise soon, you'll cry.

Extra money for a SE would be a better pick though.

I bought it 2 years ago and it's still working more than well; I think has the best size compared to the newer models.
If the price is good I would buy it or anyway consider also the SE (you should be able to find good offers)
