Is the MacBook Pro 2019 safe to buy (in terms of keyboard issues)

I want to know if the keyboard (stuck keys etc) problem is still persistent on the MBP 2019 year?

That depends on which 2019 Pro you are talking about.

The 16" 2019 MacBook Pro uses the new scissor-switch keyboard, which does not fail.

The 13" and 15" 2019 MacBook Pro's use the horrific ticking timebomb butterfly keyboard. They are all just as bad as each other, all butterfly-keyboard machines should be avoided at all cost in my opinion.

Wow, thank you for the fast reply. I absolutely didn't know that! I was in the process of buying a 15" mbp 2019! Horrible. Will look into the 16" one then.

good question. Of course that would depend on the price differences in the used market.

Not sure where you are located, but typically in the U.S., 16" 2019 Pro's sell for around the same price as an M1 MacBook Air or higher-specced M1 Mac mini.

Unless you need Windows, then any M1 machine is a way better buy. Support for Intel Macs will be gone in 2-3 years most likely, and if the PPC to Intel transition is anything to go by, then mainstream app support (eg: browsers) will be gone around a year after that.

On the other hand, all M1 machines will be getting major OS updates for at least 4 years, and browser support will continue for much longer.

Also, Intel Macs (especially the last ones, such as the 16" 2019 MBP) are extremely notorious for getting extremely hot, thermal throttling (CPU gets so hot that it has to downclock) and having bad battery life compared to ASi Macs.

for a M1 or M2 chip. I've seen a few 2019 16" models on ebay in nice condition with AC+, 2TB SSD and 32GB RAM going for about a grand. The same configuration on a M2 would be around $3500. The M1 or M2 will definitely smoke the intel chip but it really depends on your specific needs. Saving $2500 seems like a good deal if thats all you really need

It really is a great deal, even with an intel processor! I'm looking at a few on ebay now and I can not believe how low they are selling for. Some are in mint condition still with Applecare and are going for $1000 and under. These were selling for $4K just 2-3 years ago! I know AS is much better but the price difference is astonishing!
