Ya, that screenshot was just a bad moment I think. It is getting 4.2 now. The average is much closer to what it has been like over my use so far.
Maybe I should be more clear, I've gotten less than 3 hours ever on this macbook pro on the battery. I've left it on and plugged in over night twice to do syncing and any disk encryption idle tasks. It should be good to go now.
I am aware that battery is a high focus area for performance of the product, so I've purposefully gone off-cable during the day to test the cycle time.
Safari is cute but I am a very heavy chrome user and my patterns are the same as how I use it on my 2013 11" MBA.
I just got off the phone with Apple Support.
They ran a remote diagnostic on my 13" tbMBP and found an issue with the power on the first diagnostic run. They said it absolutely should not have had this flag at this time. We ran a second set of tests where we tested every USB-C port, including rotating the power adapter 180 degrees for each port.
According to the rep, the test came back that the Battery and Ports checked out okay. The rep indicated that instead the issue was related to a power adapter problem.
I probed and the rep said that the power adapter was possibly faulty and that it was not charging the laptop to its full amount. I indicated the readings I was getting, which was that the laptop was charging on the cable to 100% (although it has felt a bit slow to do so). All indications from my end from Activity Monitor and Battery Health are that the machine is charging fully.
The rep said it needed to either be returned by mail with the machine or that I should do a walk-in for an appointment at an Apple Store to have the power adapter and machine looked at.
I'm going to take the machine in tomorrow 10am PST. I'll report what I find out.
