Try searching macintoshgarden on Google. I can’t seem to find a result to the actual site on more then one device.

I think it is ultimately a good decision. There is safety in obscurity, especially for something that already deals in a legal grey area such as abandonware.Huh, don't know how I feel about that decision. Will have to hit him up on discord. This would make a fantastic macyak topic.
After reading this response, I would have vote yes as well. This makes a lot of sense. As a direct response to the title of the thread; no.
It's not the first time this has been done either, only this time it was up to the members to cast a vote either for yes or no... had no votes been cast it would of have been up to the staff, and ruled from there.
It partly has to do with the DMCA, while we do honor these requests we don't like them any more than the next individual. They are incredibly inconvenient, and can at times be a bit hard to figure out if they are legit or not, it is however unwise to poke a sleeping dragon.
I can however assure that nothing is deleted, and I would not say it is an open invitation to start scraping en masse in fear of the Garden vanishing.
Another part of it has to do with crawlers, bots of good and malicious nature, out of which there is a staggering amount - and is a constant uphill battle to keep at bay.
As mentioned elsewhere, I put a great deal of faith and value in the word of mouth, and we're not competing for traffic or popularity, it's more about preserving and providing a piece of the past, whether it brings joyful memories back to life or helps in any other meaningful way.
Nothing Google works the way it used to be. DuckDuckGo is the best. I use this on my Titanium under interWeb and TenFourFox.It appears so.
DuckDuckGo appears to have no trouble with it.
Thats right.. if not macintoshgarden then who else would preserve these treasures from OS 9 ?? I agree with this 100 percent - keep low profile when using search engines, but because duckduckgo protects privacy and could care less, I am glad it even lists MacintoshGarden. As a direct response to the title of the thread; no.

If it were only that...It is essentially a clone of the Garden and they have bandwidth restrictions\waiting times for users.
What do you mean?If it were only that...
I thought it was pretty cool when my Links2 port randomly showed up there. What do you mean?
By clone, I mean they (by my observation) have taken nearly all the content, screenshots and all and put them on their own site.
I remember there being a few members of LEM upset by this; but the way I see it the more places stuff like this is archived the better.
I will add the only time I ever go on there is if the Garden doesn't have something. Which is rare, and 9/10 times it isn't on MRepo, either.
I noticed folks often talk about or allude to Macintosh Garden as a back up of sorts. For those who checked into the last Yakkity Mac, Jay did speak to a back up only being a backup if there are at least two copies stored at two, separate & different locations independent of each other. This could be looked at through that lens. etiquette aside (asking permission etc.) the two separate sites maintain a more robust and secure back up of this data.I thought it was pretty cool when my Links2 port randomly showed up there.
There was also one time before where I really wanted to play a game but the garden version was corrupted. Repository version worked perfectly.
Plus one can be the honey pot for bots, crawlers... e all.
And let the other live and prosper quietly.

If you decide to use the FTP, there's no limit .. if you use the webforms on the page itself, the limit is roughly 18GB per fileOk, I have 3 files I need to upload to that site - is there a max GB accepted ? The entire ONYX G4 Titanium I want to upload - 4 DVDs.
