I have the jet black iphone 7 but been thinking of getting the matte black instead. is the matte black more slippery than the JB?

Since obviously the Jet Black is more grippy, I think the more informative question would be, "Is the matte black too slippery?"

The Matte Black is the same texture as the other iPhone aluminum models. The Jet Black stands alone with the anodized aluminum, which gives the user a more textured grip.

It's similar to the 6 and 6s models. Jet black has much more grip. I've had both and will be going with jet black for sure now, assuming I can find one with a bright screen...

The matte black is MUCH more slippery. And while it's not prone to fingerprints & micro scratches like the JB is, it gets smudges and grease marks very easily.

non- jetblack = a nice slippery soapblock
jetblack = best grippy iPhone, Apple EVER made

(had the matte black for a week and swapped out for a jetblack iPhone)

I've had both and used them both without a case.. the jet black is much, much grippier in my opinion. I never feel like I'm going to drop it despite my small hands and how big the phone is. Loving it!!

I had a matte black and would never have considered using it without a case, as it was very slippery. Although I actually prefer the cool to the touch feel of the matte black, the jet black is far more "grippable" and I am perfectly willing to go caseless. In fact, that was the primary reason I swapped my matte for JB.

I have never understood this whole "slippery" issue. I have never owned a slippery iPhone and I have owned them all. The matte black is not slippery for me at all, and I don't use a case.

If your hands are slightly moist the jet black is like the grip on a glass window but if it's real cold they both are like ice. With those rounded edges they both are horrid. iPhone wasn't made for human hands get a case

I did a test with my old 6s, wich has the same surface like the matte black:

I have to say though, since I exchanged my 7 against a 7+, and the 7+ feels more slippery again, because it's so big and harder to handle.

returned my JB and got matte black. the phone isnt too slippery though the JB felt better
