haha indeed. Maybe i should go back to bed.

So, I'm getting around 55c degree with open lid... It's seem improve when you leave it open lid. But I'm sure clamshell built up heat (getting 65 c to 70c). So here is the screenshot.

Thank you!

I am running about 50 degrees with several webpages open using Firefox.

Running WoW for a half hour brings it up to 70'ish, which seems pretty good. Again -- it is still cool to the touch, and I cannot hear the fan.

Temps and fan speed in the top bar in the screen shot.

*snip*

Thanks for screenshot... I guess 50ish C degree is around normal for surfing.

Shouldn't the fan kick in at higher speeds when your cpu reaches those temps? I think 73C is a bit too high for the fan to be spinning at idle speed.

What temperatures do the new macbooks reach while watching youtube videos? Macbooks have been known to get quite hot (my blackbook reaches 65-70 C) while watching flash videos, and I just want to know if the new machines handle youtube videos better.

Yes, the fan should be kick higher speed than idle speed. If I remember correctly, the fan kicking up to 3100 rpm around 75ish C.

For youtube video. I'm getting around 60-65 C degree. But it was 10 min video Youtube.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F136 Safari/525.20)

so far it's the coolest and most quiet notebook I've had.

Im thinking of buying the new macbook, I've tried both the old macbook and macbook pro and I think they are booth too loud and too warm. Is the new macbook any better?

I want a small and quiet computer, will I get that with the new macbook?
What temps do you got? Flash is not optimized at all in os x and I don't want 60-70C CPU temperatures just surfing the web :S.

I am very pleased with my new Alu MB. it is very quiet, I can't even hear the fan. I actually don't think it has a fan:p It runs very cool. I had a MBA before, and you literally could not keep it on your lap. I can sit in bed, and surf away, and nothing hot at all.

what about using it on the lap? The old macbook is too hot for the lap without a cushion or sth else in between

No problem with this one. If it wasn't for the weight, I would barely notice it.
