Is the Retina iMac future proof?

If the GPU can handle that resolution the rest of the CTO specs are just fine. Right now a CTO with i7/295x/512SSD is $3299 or $100 cheaper than a 4c nMP with similar specs (adding 512SSD).

This is the first release of an iMac with 17 mill pixels. Wait at least a year for the GPU to catch up unless of course you need/want it now.

I have the base RMP at home (but could still return it). difficult decision ... rMPB is a whole lotta cheaper, that's for sure ...
