In general, there is such an expectation. But can you tell me then what is the difference between 13 and 14? Isn't it wrong somewhere to save everything for the Pro one? It's also ridiculous that the notch is not on the Pro but on the 14. Do you think Apple will do this nonsense?

No one knows the differences because the 13 is released and the 14 is unreleased. If the chip ends up being the same (this is still technically only a rumor), then the camera could be different, battery could be better for more battery life, materials/chassis and colors could be different, or baseline storage could be improved (since it's rumored to be bumped up for the Pro's).

The value proposition of updating your iPhone annually hasn't really been viable for a few years now. Update if you want to, but don't expect incredible improvements year over year.

The base 14 is said to have the same A15 chip as the 13 Pro which will provide a minor clock speed increase and RAM upgrade over the base 13.

I have an iPhone 13. Since there has been a lot of inflation in my country in recent years, I thought it would be more profitable to sell and buy a new one every year. I will try to get 14 pro, but I don't know. Even if Apple puts A15, it will upgrade with extra hardware. But starting with its design, it seems very strange that many things are the same as 13.

It's more likely that the 14 models will get the A15 from the 13 Pro series, so 5 core GPU up from 4. Maybe 6 GB of RAM.

14 Pro series will get A16 with 6/8GB of RAM likely.

There will still be camera improvements and likely a new 5G modem, probably wifi 6e/BT 5.2 this year.

USB C is also a possibility.

The display with no notch on the 14 pro makes sense also, likely a new display unit with a 1Hz mode for always on display.

Right now the only difference between the regular 13 and Pro are: +2 GB so 6 GB of RAM, Stainless stell instead of aluminum, 120Hz display, and a telephoto lens.

We've also heard rumors of price increases so maybe the pro starts at 1099 and gets the new processor every year and the previous year trickles down from here on out.

I personally don't have any issue with this segmentation moving forward. The iPhone chips are already so fast and way ahead of the competition. It's cost effective for apple and provides more upsell features.

The expected extra RAM will probably make more of a noticeable difference than a slight speed increase. Not to mention if it really is the 13 Pro version of the A15 there should be a slight GPU increase as well.

The pain resides in the fact that the iPhone 14 will mark a transition for the non pro différenciation

Past that stage ,even the non pro will get a chip update year after year ,only that it will be that if the previous pro’s

I digress but no one knows ,although given Apple recent marketing and **** ,that’s very likely to be true .

Oh boy, I sure hope the standard 14 gets a new chip. If I plan to upgrade from my iPhone 11 soon and the iP14 uses A15 I may as well buy the 13 and save $100

Sure, while that is true, I feel like Android chips from companies like Qualcomm have been catching up to Apple at a faster rate lately, even if the battery consumption is out of the park on A-series chips. This kinda makes me concerned for A15 to be sticking around another gen.

Why don’t you, you know, wait until Apple announces it?

There are two more weeks. 😩 On the other hand, I like to talk about it, to discuss it. 😎 I think it helps us to brainstorm and analyze better what happened or what will happen.

I wonder why September 7? Apple was able to add a mana to the number of days in the past years.

I guess they want to push more people towards the Pro models. And to be honest, just to have 120Hz refresh rate, I would go for a Pro.

This will be especially noticeable next year with the iPhone 15 Pro, with the A17 built on 3nm and the body redesign, USB-C, periscope lens…

Apple is also using there Modem for the Iphone Pro 14 series only. That’s the word on the streets around Foxcomm
