Thx CasLondon - I found this at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-2-5-I...d=1350873642&sr=1-2&keywords=256g+Samsung+830 and it looks pretty awesome fo rthe price, I have to agree. Can you advise what else I'll need to set up the data doubler? DO I need to get that from OWC or is there a better alternative?

You don't NEED to get it from OWC, MCI Optibay is another choice, and there are floods of cheap chinese adapter trays on ebay if you google around the terms "optibay alternatives".

I found that I made a cheap one work, but the holes weren't lined up great, and I hear not all of the cheap ones have all the correct holes to screw into the MBP solidly, I wonder if in hindsight it wasn't better just to spend the extra bit and have a proper one (even when you know their margins are high on that thing)

If you are in Australia, check out....http://www.macfixit.com.au/shop/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=285

If you are in the US, check out when the data doubler or the Optibay goes on sale or just take a chance on one of the chinese ones on ebay for 20 bucks.

And the Samsung drives are getting priced more competitively every day
